Encinal Bluffs is located west of Broad Beach and El Matador State Beach. The neighborhood is defined by it's true Malibu luxury estates on plenty of acreage. In 1997 Malibu had it's first $10 million sale at an Encinal Bluffs home. Many of the larger estate sales on Encinal Bluffs are sold as pocket listings and not listed on the MLS to create exclusiveness and privacy. A notable house on Encinal Bluffs is the "Gunther House" designed by the architect Frank Gehry in 1978. Business icon Michael Eisner the former CEO of Disney once owned an estate on Encinal Bluffs. Julia Roberts also bought a home on Encinal Bluffs for a whopping $20 million.
